To get the best filter life and far less filter cleaning use this simple rule. If the water looks clear, put it through your filter. Otherwise, pour the water thru a coffee filter or something similar to remove the large dirty particles from the water. It's the large particles in the water that will clog your filter very quickly. If the filter is cleanable, frequent cleaning/scrubbing will also reduce the filter life. If the filter is a one use disposable filter dirty water will drastically reduce the amount of water you will be able to filter.

Suspect water needs worry-free, hassle-free filtration and that is what you get from this freestanding Katadyn Drip Ceradyn product. No electricity, no pumping, no moving parts and no effort. No need for pumping or connection to a tap thanks to gravity. The output is approx. 4L/h and particularly suitable for large groups.
The Drip Ceradyn uses 3 silver-impregnated ceramic elements to clean out bacteria, protozoa and other disease-causing agents. The micro-organisms cannot pass through the mini pores of the filter ceramic (0.2 microns) because of their size (greater than 0.2 microns = 0.0002 mm).
The capacity is up to 150'000L, depending on the water quality.
Unlike disposable filters, the ceramic can be cleaned many times - even in the field. Longer use and lower operating costs are the advantages.
Ideal for use in hunting, fishing and mountain huts. The Drip filter is also used by international relief organizations as group equipment for preparing water.
