Hard Red Wheat  has a low moisture content and a high protein content (14% or more).  It can be ground for flour to use in baked goods. You can cook the whole grain (a crock pot is handy for overnight when using the whole grain) or crack it (stove top cooking) for a hot cereal.

The Super Pail has a Mylar bag inside the 5 Gallon Bucket. The product is sealed inside the Mylar bag and then sealed inside the bucket. The Mylar bag provides extra protection for the product which helps it  store longer and protects the product from any deficiencies that may exist in the bucket. Super Pails are the best for long-term storage of bulk foods.

Shelf life estimates are based on industry studies from sources deemed reputable. Since Rainy Day Foods has no control over individual storage practices, they must disclaim any liability or warranty for particular results.

Shelf Life:  Should be stored in cool dark place- optimum condition is 60 degrees or less- for longer storage. Storing properly in our enameled cans and Super pail buckets, product may store up to 30 years. Bulk products need to be repackaged for long term storage.
